Being in the field of care since age 23 Joanne Adams, our Family therapist started off printing t-shirts in a rehabilitation centre to then progressed on to qualify as a Family Systemic Psychotherapist!
Joanne finds that often we end up in a place where we feel unsettled and lost. Psychotherapy is a place where we go to express that and have our feelings acknowledged.
Wishing to offer an experience that she values and has value in life Joanne find herself influenced by things that can be done playfully; art, creative thinking and play are just some of those influences.
Family and individual systemic psychotherapy is a gentle process that is about you identifying the changes that you want in your life and Jo identifying that also. It is a therapy that fundamentally should help you. From babies and mums to young children, couples and every other age it is a therapy that offers anyone a space to think about things in their life that makes them unhappy and then tries to create things to help them move on from this unhappiness through developing strategies, ideas and new ways of thinking.
Joanne believes that people can be liberated from their sense of despair, their labels and their stereotypes. She believes that people can be liberated from their fixated problems and that “life does get better”.
Joanne is UKCP registered and you can find her details on the website www.psychotherapy.org.uk.
